Washing: Our Harris Tweed & Abraham Moon collars can be machine washed. Simply place the collar in a washing bag and use a wool wash cycle for best results.

Drying: Once the wash has finished, gently stretch the collar out so it lies flat and allow it to dry naturally. Do not tumble dry. Our tweed collars don't shrink as the material is sewn on the webbing.

About Our Materials: Harris Tweed & Abraham Moon fabric is made from 100% British wool - inherently bacteria and odour-resistant. Wool is naturally breathable, wind and water resistant, making it the perfect material for outdoor adventures with your pet.

Maintenance Tips: Between washes, brush the collar gently to remove surface dirt and maintain the wool's natural texture. Regular airing will help keep the collar fresh and maintain its natural properties.

What’s the difference between Harris Tweed and Abraham Moon collars?

Both are made from 100% wool and offer beautiful British heritage fabrics. Harris Tweed is handwoven in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland using traditional methods. Abraham Moon wool is woven in Yorkshire and known for its rich colours and quality. Whichever you choose, you’re getting timeless style and craftsmanship.

How do I choose the right size for my dog?

We recommend measuring around your dog’s neck where their collar would normally sit. Our collars are adjustable, but it’s important to pick the right base size. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us — we’re happy to help you find the perfect fit.

Can I personalise my collar?

Yes! Every clasp collar includes free name engraving (optional). Please note: space is limited, so we recommend short, essential info like your dog’s name and your contact number. We allow up to 3 lines of text (max 13 characters per line).

Are these collars machine washable?

Yes, all our tweed dog collars are machine washable. We recommend fastening the clasp or buckle and placing it in a laundry bag before washing on a gentle cycle. Air dry flat — no tumble drying.

How long does it take to receive my collar?

Each collar is handmade to order in Yorkshire, so please allow 7–10 days before dispatch. It’s worth the wait — every piece is crafted with care to ensure a perfect fit and beautiful finish.

Do you offer matching leads and accessories?

Absolutely! We offer matching tweed leads, bow ties, bandanas, headbands, keyrings, and treat bags to complete the look. Perfect for gifting or simply spoiling your dog in style.

Are the clasps and hardware secure?

Yes. Our collars are built with a strong webbing core and solid metal hardware. Choose from stainless steel, rose gold, brass, or gold-tone Alumax clasps — all durable enough for everyday use.

What is the most comfortable material for a dog collar?

The most comfortable dog collars are made from soft, breathable materials that sit gently against the skin. Natural fibres like 100% wool (such as Harris Tweed and Abraham Moon wool) offer warmth, softness, and flexibility — especially when paired with a cotton lining, like our Kona non-irritable fabric. This combination is ideal for sensitive dogs and all-day wear. Padded collars or those with a fabric lining over a strong webbing core strike the best balance of comfort and durability.

Does Harris Tweed shrink or get damaged in the wash?

No. Although Harris Tweed is naturally odour-resistant and antibacterial, which helps reduce the need for frequent washing, our collars are carefully designed with durability in mind. The fabric is sewn onto a robust webbing base, so it won’t shrink or lose shape — even with occasional washing.

How often should I wash my dog’s tweed collar?

Tweed accessories like bow ties and bandanas rarely need washing, but collars do collect more dirt with regular wear. We recommend washing only when necessary, using a wash bag and drying flat for best results.

What’s the difference between buckle and clasp collars, and which is right for my dog?

Buckle collars feature a classic belt-style metal buckle that’s incredibly secure — ideal for stronger dogs or those who pull. While they take a little longer to fasten, they offer a timeless look and solid reliability.

Clasp collars (also called quick-release) use a snap mechanism that’s lightweight and easy to put on or take off — great for everyday walks, smaller dogs, or those who don’t tend to pull.

Still unsure?
• Choose buckle for durability, traditional style, or bigger breeds.
• Choose clasp for convenience, speed, and casual wear.

Woven in Yorkshire. Designed for hands-on comfort and everyday strength.

Abraham Moon Wool: Style You Can Feel, Strength You Can Trust

Why Abraham Moon wool for our dog leads?

Because your hands deserve comfort and your dog deserves reliability. Abraham Moon wool is woven in one of Britain’s last vertical mills, delivering trusted strength, timeless texture, and serious everyday performance. It’s not just elegant. It’s engineered for real life with dogs.

What you’ll feel and notice

Naturally odour resistantWool fibres resist the build-up of smells, so your lead won’t cling to that wet dog scent like synthetics often do.

Comfortable and grippy in the hand – Moon wool feels soft and warm to the touch, offering a more secure, less abrasive grip than standard nylon. It helps prevent the rope-burn effect when your dog pulls.

Breathable and moisture-managing – Wool buffers moisture and dries quickly, helping the handle stay drier and more comfortable in all conditions.

Durable outer with strength at the core – We wrap Abraham Moon wool around strong internal webbing and pair it with locking metal hardware. It’s not just about looking good. It’s built to hold strong.

Easy to freshen up – Wool tends to repel dirt, so most mud brushes off when dry. For deeper cleaning, just follow our simple care instructions. Machine wash as required.

Ethical, renewable and UK made – Made from natural fibre, woven in Yorkshire using time-honoured methods and modern innovation. A product you can feel good about.

What makes Abraham Moon wool special?

Every metre is woven in West Yorkshire by Abraham Moon & Sons, a mill operating since 1837. From dyeing to weaving, it all happens under one roof. The result is exceptional quality, vibrant colours, and a fabric trusted by tailors and designers around the world. Now reimagined for your daily dog walks. Crafted for control and comfort. We showcase Abraham Moon wool on the outside for natural grip, British style and lasting quality.

The core is structured with high-strength webbing and metal fittings to support even strong pullers. It’s all the premium feel, without the usual compromise on strength.

In short: An Abraham Moon wool lead gives you natural comfort, real durability, trusted British heritage, and a handle that’s built to feel good from the first walk to the hundredth.
