What is a double dog lead and how does it work?
A double dog lead allows you to walk two dogs using a single handle. It features a central grip and two separate lead arms that attach to each dog’s collar. This design reduces tangling and gives you better control without juggling multiple leads.
Is the Biothane double lead waterproof?
Yes. The entire lead is made from PVC/TPU-coated Biothane which is waterproof, mud-proof, rot-proof, and smell-resistant. You can rinse it clean after wet or muddy walks and it will dry quickly without absorbing water.
How long are the handle and lead arms?
The handle measures approximately 30 to 35 centimetres, and each lead arm is 53 to 60 centimetres in length (excluding hardware). This setup gives both dogs space to move while keeping them close enough for easy control.
Is this lead suitable for large or strong dogs?
Yes. The Biothane split lead is available in 20mm and 25mm widths for added strength and durability. Combined with solid hardware and reinforced stitching, it is strong enough to handle medium to large breeds, including strong pullers.
Does the lead tangle while walking?
No. The design helps minimise tangling by keeping both dogs at an even distance from the handle. While some twisting may occur with highly active dogs, most customers find this lead offers much more control and ease than walking with two separate leads.
Can I use this double lead with any dog collar?

What type of hardware can I choose?

Simply rinse it under warm water or wipe it clean with a damp cloth. For heavy dirt or mud, use mild soap. Because Biothane is non-porous, it won’t trap dirt or smells, and it dries quickly without warping.
