What is a Biothane training lead and how does it work?
A Biothane training lead is an adjustable, waterproof lead designed to give you more control during walks and training. Ours feature snap hooks at both ends and adjust to six different lengths, making them perfect for everything from close heel work to relaxed walking or recall practice.
How long is the Biothane training lead?
Our training leads reach a maximum length of 1.9 metres. They can be adjusted to six fixed lengths, giving you flexibility depending on your training needs, environment, or your dog’s behaviour.
Is the training lead waterproof?
Yes. The lead is made from PVC/TPU-coated Biothane, which is completely waterproof, non-porous, and mould-resistant. It’s ideal for wet weather, swimming, muddy walks, and adventurous dogs.
How do I clean the Biothane training lead?
Cleaning is easy. Just wipe it with a damp cloth or rinse under warm water. For stubborn dirt, use mild soap. Because the surface is non-absorbent, it dries quickly and doesn’t trap odours or bacteria.
Can I use this lead for large or strong dogs?
Yes. Our Biothane training leads are available in both 20mm and 25mm widths, with a strong, non-stretch webbing core. Combined with solid hardware and reinforced stitching, they are suitable for dogs of all sizes, including strong pullers.
What kind of hardware is available?
You can choose from Brass, Rose Gold, Stainless Steel, Antique Brass, or Black hardware. All fittings are welded and durable, offering strength and style for any adventure.
Is the Biothane material soft on the hands?
Yes. Biothane is smooth, flexible, and comfortable to hold, even during long walks or training sessions. It won’t cause rope burn or absorb water like fabric leads, making it a great choice for comfort and control.
Can I use the training lead with any collar?
Yes. The lead has snap hooks at both ends, so it can easily attach to any standard collar or harness. It is especially useful with Biothane collars for a coordinated, waterproof walking set.
