FAQ - Dog Blankets & Throws New
Are Collared Creatures dog blankets machine washable?
Yes. Wash at 30 degrees and do not tumble dry. Hang or line dry naturally to keep the fabric looking its best.
What is the difference between Monaco and Braga Moss?
Monaco (available in Paddle and Rust) is a chenille upholstery grade fabric rated to 60,000 Martindale for serious daily durability. Braga Moss is woven entirely from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester, offering the same softness with a genuinely sustainable material choice. Both are lined with polar fleece for warmth.
What are the blankets made from?
Monaco Paddle and Monaco Rust use a duo-shaded chenille upholstery fabric for added depth and long-term durability. Braga Moss uses a flat-woven chenille made entirely from recycled polyester. All three are lined with polar fleece, a soft, lightweight fabric that provides warmth without added bulk.
Is Braga Moss actually sustainable, or is that just marketing?
It's genuine. Braga Moss is made entirely from recycled polyester, meaning no new raw materials are used to produce the outer fabric. You get the same softness and durability as the Monaco range, made from materials that already existed.
Which size should I choose?
All three blankets come in four sizes: Small (69cm x 69cm), Medium (69cm x 100cm), Large (138cm x 100cm), and Extra Large (138cm x 150cm). Small suits crates and smaller breeds, while Extra Large is ideal for sofas or larger dog beds. See our size guide for full details.
Can these blankets be used on sofas or furniture?
Yes. All three are designed to sit naturally in your home while protecting furniture from fur, dirt, and general wear. They work equally well as a sofa throw, bed cover, or car seat protector.
Are they suitable for travel or crate use?
Yes. The Small and Medium sizes are ideal for crates, carriers, and travel, giving your dog a familiar, comfortable spot wherever you go.
Do they stay soft and keep their texture after washing?
Yes. Monaco's duo-shaded chenille and Braga's recycled weave are both designed to hold their texture and colour depth wash after wash, rather than flattening or pilling the way cheaper throws often do.
What colours are available?
Monaco Paddle offers a warm, versatile taupe, Monaco Rust a deeper terracotta, and Braga Moss a muted sage green. Each is designed to sit well within a range of home interiors, from neutral to earthy tones.
What makes these blankets different from others?
Monaco is built to upholstery-grade durability standards, rated to 60,000 Martindale, well beyond typical pet blanket fabric. Braga Moss matches that same softness and quality using entirely recycled materials. Both are finished like a proper piece of home textile, not a throwaway pet accessory.
