Cleaning: We do not recommend putting Biothane in the washing machine. All you need to do is wipe the surface with a damp towel, baby wipe, or sanitizing wipe. Most of the time you won't even need to clean it, but if it's wet or your dog has dragged it through the mud, we would advise giving the collar a clean.

Biothane is a durable, PVC/TPC-coated material that is mould-resistant, water-resistant, and antibacterial. It’s strong, flexible, and doesn’t stretch, making it ideal for active dogs who love the outdoors. It’s also gentle on fur and easy to wipe clean.

What’s the difference between a buckle collar and a clasp collar?

Buckle collars fasten like a belt and offer a classic, secure fit. Clasp collars feature a quick-release mechanism, ideal for convenience and speed. Both styles are made from the same waterproof Biothane material and include your choice of stainless steel or brass hardware, with free engraving included.

How does the engraving work on Biothane collars?

Engraving is completely free and optional on all Biothane collars. For clasp collars, the information is engraved directly onto the face of the clasp — up to 3 lines of text, with a maximum of 13 characters per line.

For buckle collars, engraving is applied to a nameplate that is securely fastened to the collar. You can include up to 3 lines, with a maximum of 22 characters per line. It’s a great way to add your dog’s name and contact details without needing a separate tag.

Is the engraving durable? Will it fade or wear off?

Yes, the engraving is laser-etched directly onto the clasp or nameplate and is built to last. It won't rub off or fade with regular use, even with daily walks, wet conditions, or dirt-prone dogs.
