Washing: Remove the cover and machine wash at 30°C. Use a gentle cycle with mild detergent for best results.

Drying: Air dry only - hang or lay flat to dry. The fabric dries quickly and will be ready for use in no time.

What to Avoid: Avoid fabric softeners as they may affect the material's properties. We do not recommend tumble drying, bleaching or ironing as this may damage the fabric and affect the bed's shape and comfort.

Maintenance Tips: Between washes, wipe down the cover with a damp cloth to maintain freshness. Vacuum the bed regularly to remove pet hair, dirt, and debris. Spot clean minor stains immediately for best results.

Important: Remove the internal rod and hood insert (where applicable) before washing. Please do not tumble dry.

What size cave bed should I get for my dog?

We offer sizes from Small to Extra-Large to suit different breeds and sleeping styles. Check our size guide for breed suggestions, or measure your dog while they’re sleeping for the best fit. Need help? Just get in touch — we’re happy to advise.

Does the hood stay up or collapse?

The hood includes a removable arch rod that keeps it raised for a den-like feel. If your dog prefers a more open nest, you can remove the rod so the hood acts like a cosy blanket instead.

Can I remove the hood completely?

Yes, the hood is fully removable. Simply unzip it during warmer months or when your dog prefers an open bed, then zip it back on when they want a cosy hideaway.

Are the covers machine washable?

Yes — the outer cover is machine washable at 30°C. For best results, use a gentle cycle and air dry. Avoid tumble drying, ironing or fabric softener to protect the fabric and padding.

Is the bed suitable for anxious or nervous dogs?

Many customers find this bed helps their dogs feel calm and secure. The soft hood creates a safe, enclosed space that mimics a natural den — ideal for dogs that like to burrow, snuggle, or retreat when stressed.

Is this bed chew-proof?

The bed is made from durable, upholstery-grade fabric, but it’s not indestructible. If your dog tends to chew or nibble, especially zips, we recommend supervising or choosing a simpler design without a hood.

What’s the difference between the Cave Bed and Cocoon Bed?

The Cave Bed has a soft cushion base and a smaller hood opening for a snug fit, ideal for full burrowers. The Cocoon Bed has a sturdier foam base, higher bolster sides, and a more open hood, which is better for dogs that like head support or a spacious den.

Where are your beds made?

All Collared Creatures beds are handmade in the UK using high-quality materials and thoughtful design details. They’re created by dog lovers who understand what makes a bed truly comfortable and long-lasting.

How long does delivery take?

Orders placed before 12pm (Monday to Friday) are shipped the same day. Beds are sent via tracked courier (DX) and usually arrive within 1–2 working days. Handmade items may take 5–10 working days to dispatch.

A den like retreat that melts away anxiety

A Dog Cave Bed For Instant Calm

Built from the ground up to help anxious dogs relax, our dog cave bed works like a personal den. The structured hood is held open by a removable flexible rod so your dog can enter without pushing fabric aside, then the canopy settles around them to block light and soften household noise.

Thick faux fur lines every surface and creates gentle, even pressure similar to a calming wrap. Dogs instinctively burrow, turn once, and tuck their noses into the fur, which steadies breathing and lowers heart rate. Owners report fewer pacing episodes, less barking during storms, and noticeably deeper nighttime sleep.

Because the bed provides a predictable private space, separation anxiety behaviours also decline. Place the cave bed in a quiet corner, add a favourite toy, and you create an immediate safe zone that helps both dog and owner enjoy a calmer home.

Self warming fur lining plus a removable hood

Toasty Warm in Winter, Cool in Summer

Our covered dog bed holds body heat where it belongs so cold nights never disturb your pet’s rest. Dense fur lining captures warmth and reflects it back, raising the temperature inside the cave several degrees above room level.

The hood blocks chilly drafts while still allowing airflow so condensation never builds. Short haired breeds, seniors with slower circulation, and lean sighthounds that shiver on open pillows can finally snooze through the night without an electric pad.

When warmer weather arrives, unzip the hood to convert the bed into a breathable cushion and store the rod until autumn. One product serves all seasons, cutting clutter and saving money.

Replace blanket digging with a purpose built tunnel

Built for Burrowers, Saves Your Sofa

Natural digging and nesting instincts can wreck sofas, throws, and carpets when a dog has nowhere safe to indulge them. Our hooded dog bed channels that energy into a designated space.

A reinforced hood supported by a removable arch rod forms a stable tunnel that invites scratching and wriggling until the perfect nest appears. Double stitched faux fur withstands repeated pawing, while the base cushion is packed with resilient filling that rebounds after each use so the bed never flattens.

Remove the rod and the hood collapses into a loose blanket for pets that prefer to sleep fully covered. Redirecting burrowing behaviour to the cave bed protects household furnishings, cuts replacement costs, and reduces mess.
