Washing: Our Harris Tweed & Abraham Moon leads can be machine washed. Simply place the lead in a washing bag and use a wool wash cycle for best results.

Drying: Once the wash has finished, gently stretch the lead out so it lies flat and allow it to dry naturally. Do not tumble dry. Our tweed leads don't shrink as the material is sewn on the webbing.

About Our Materials: Harris Tweed & Abraham Moon fabric is made from 100% British wool - inherently bacteria and odour-resistant. Wool is naturally breathable, wind and water resistant, making it only necessary to machine wash when muddy or dirty.

Maintenance Tips: Between washes, brush the lead gently to remove surface dirt and maintain the wool's natural texture. Regular airing will help keep the lead fresh and maintain its natural properties.

Our tweed dog leads are approximately 1.3 metres in length and available in two width options:
  • 20mm Width: Best for small to medium dogs or those who prefer a lighter, more flexible lead.
  • 25mm Width: Ideal for medium to large breeds or owners who prefer a slightly thicker, more robust feel.
What’s the difference between Harris Tweed and Abraham Moon dog leads?

Both Harris Tweed and Abraham Moon leads are handmade in Yorkshire using 100% British wool. Harris Tweed is handwoven in the Outer Hebrides and certified by the Harris Tweed Authority, while Abraham Moon fabric is woven in Yorkshire and known for its fine finish and vibrant colour options.

Are your tweed dog leads suitable for everyday use?

Yes, our Harris Tweed and Abraham Moon dog leads are crafted for daily use. They’re lined with strong webbing and cotton for durability, comfort, and control. Each lead is Scotch Guard treated to help resist the elements and maintain its look over time.

Can I wash the tweed dog lead?

Yes, our tweed leads are machine washable. Simply place the lead in a washing bag and use a wool cycle. After washing, reshape and let it dry naturally. Do not tumble dry. The fabric is sewn to webbing, so it won't shrink or warp.

What length and width are your dog leads?

All our tweed dog leads are approximately 1.3 metres long and available in two widths: 20mm and 25mm. The narrower option is great for smaller dogs, while the 25mm width offers extra control for medium to large breeds.

How strong are your tweed dog leads?

Our tweed dog leads are built to last. Each one is reinforced with a strong inner webbing core and stitched for strength. They're fitted with welded D-rings and hardware that can handle daily walks with small to large dogs alike.

Can I get a matching collar for my tweed lead?

Yes! Each tweed lead is available with a matching dog collar. You can also complete the look with a coordinating bow tie, bandana, treat bag, or even a matching headband for yourself.

How long does it take to receive my handmade dog lead?

Each lead is handmade to order in Yorkshire. The dispatch time is around 7-10 days during busy periods but we will do our best to get it out to you sooner! Once shipped, standard UK delivery typically takes 2–3 working days.

What types of hardware can I choose?

You can choose from a variety of premium fittings: stainless steel, rose gold, gold, or antique brass. All hardware is solid and welded for strength and durability.

Do the tweed leads suit dogs with sensitive skin?

Yes. The wool fabric used is naturally breathable and soft, while the cotton lining reduces rubbing or irritation. These leads are a great choice for dogs with sensitive skin or coat concerns.

Are your tweed dog leads handmade in the UK?

Absolutely. Every tweed lead is handmade in Yorkshire, England, using authentic Harris Tweed or Abraham Moon wool. Our workshop has been crafting dog accessories since 2014, blending heritage style with lasting quality.

Hand woven in Scotland. Built for real world walks.

Harris Tweed: Heritage you can hold, strength you can trust

Why Harris Tweed for our dog leads?

Because your hands and your dog deserve more than plain webbing. Harris Tweed is the world famous cloth hand woven from 100 percent pure new wool in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, protected by law under the Harris Tweed Act 1993 and certified by the Orb Mark. It delivers authentic British craftsmanship, real provenance and natural performance benefits that solve everyday lead frustrations.

What you will feel and notice

Naturally odour resistant. Wool fibres help resist lingering smells so your Harris Tweed dog lead is less likely to keep that wet dog scent.

Comfortable, warm and grippy handle. Wool feels good in the hand and helps reduce that harsh cutting feel you get from bare nylon when a dog pulls. We line it with soft, fast drying materials for comfort in all weather.

Breathable and moisture managing. Wool buffers humidity which helps the handle stay drier and more comfortable on long walks.

Hard wearing outer with real engineering underneath. The Harris Tweed you see is paired with an internal high-strength webbing and locking metal hardware. Looks are not the only thing that lasts.

Easy to freshen up. Most dirt brushes off when dry. For deeper cleans just follow our simple care guide.

Ethical, renewable and UK made. Natural fibre, a protected Scottish craft and a supply chain you can feel good about supporting.

What makes Harris Tweed special

Every metre is hand woven by islanders at their homes in the Outer Hebrides, then inspected and stamped with the Harris Tweed Authority Orb Mark. This is not tweed look. It is the real thing, coloured by heather, sea and sky, spun and woven to last.

Design that blends craft with engineering

We showcase Harris Tweed on the outside for heritage, beauty and odour resistance. The load is carried by industrial strength webbing and high-quality hardware so you get premium style without compromising safety.

In short: A Harris Tweed dog lead gives you iconic British style, natural odour control, a handle that actually feels good to hold and a structural core that is tested to handle real dogs in the real world.
